Myalup - Perth - Heathrow
Breakfast with Leah and Bruce. As usual the conversation covered many topics from medical insurance cover in Australia compared with the UK to recruitment of teachers via dairy farming. Bruce had to leave at just after 9:00 for a dental appointment.
After half an hour or so of packing, Leah took us on a tour of Myalup and up the road to show us Lake Preston. Wildlife was conspicuous by its absence.
Coffee and a snack (and more chatting) completed the morning. Bruce arrived back from the dentist just in time to see us off.
Easy journey to the airport. the only tricky bit was finding a garage near the airport to fill up. Jo thinks this is a conspiracy of car rental firms! Costco garage very popular, but after waiting and trying the pump I discovered it's only available to Costco members. Grrr... A brief worry as entry to Costco was controlled by a barrier as was the exit - were we going to be able to get out without paying? Fortunately, yes!
Check-in at Perth was simple and efficient. The only disappointment was a complete lack of any newspapers at the newsagents!
Luckily the flight back was only about two thirds full and we had a central row of three seats to ourselves.
